Polyus wins People Investor’s Environmental Efficiency award

Polyus was delighted to win People Investor’s 2021 Environmental Efficiency award for its corporate environmental projects. The awards ceremony took place at the 14th annual People Investor forum for Sustainable development in December 2021.

Polyus’ Water Campaign to improve water management efficiency was focused on technical, organizational and management initiatives to reduce quantities of freshwater intake from natural sources, which will be replaced with recycled pit water. Having issued the industry’s first Water Report in Russia earlier in 2021, Polyus met its internal targets and attained new levels in terms of public disclosure standards.

People Investor’s awards recognize management strategies, activities and the efficiency of solutions. In 2021, 82 projects in five categories were nominated, 24 of which were shortlisted. Projects by Unilever, RusHydro, Severstal and SUEK were among the shortlisted nominations.
