Corporate sporting activities: first ever Polyus Race in Magadan

Polyus held its first ever running competition in Magadan. Around 40 athletes made up of Polyus employees and their families joined the race at the starting line.

The competition was split into different categories — children aged from 2 to 11 and adults. The kids ran a 500m race, while grown-ups had to run 5 km to cross the finish line.

Boris Ataulov won the men’s category. He described his emotions:

“The event was very well arranged, and I really enjoyed it! We were very lucky with the weather and really felt the vibes of the sporting event. I did not train specifically for of the race, but hoped I would achieve a decent result. I really tried to do my best and get the most out of it. Hopefully, even more Polyus Magadan employees will participate in the next running competition. After all, we have now established our own corporate running club.”

Tatyana Kravchenko came first in the women’s category. The fastest runner in the children’s category was Timur Tsarkov. All winners and runners received medals and memorabilia after the race.

Darya Tsarkova, a coach at Polyus’ corporate running club, commented:

“Most of our participants had not run at all before the competition. However, they all managed to run 5 km and achieved great results following regular training. We are sure that we can do even better next time!”
