The study notes how Polyus closely follows guidelines set out by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which enables companies to increase their transparency and take more responsibility for their social and environmental impacts.
In particular, SustainCase comments on how the GRI standards upheld by Polyus directly contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 — ‘Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions’. This is demonstrated by a number of initiatives that the company has put in place to prevent corruption. These measures include the implementation of an Anti-Corruption Policy, the provision of in-depth anti-corruption training for employees since 2017 and the establishment of a security hotline to facilitate whistleblowing or communications of concern.
