Polyus was delighted to be recognized yesterday at the annual IR Magazine Awards, being named as having the Best ESG Materiality Reporting, of Large Cap companies.
ESG disclosure has become a crucial priority for Polyus, so to be highlighted among the investor community is testament to the hard work by the whole team.
IR Magazine hold their awards annually. While normally an in-person event, this year the ceremony was wholly hosted online. The awards recognize the best-in-class achievements across different sectors. To be named winner in one of the categories is a great achievement, especially given that Polyus was the only Russian company recognized with an award this year.
In the last year, Polyus has made great strides in its ESG achievements. The Company published its inaugural Water Report, being the first, and currently the only Russian company to do so. Polyus also released its Climate Position Statement, setting out the Company’s key strategic targets regarding climate change. Another key highlight was switching the power used at the Company’s operating assets to being from 100% renewable sources. ESG has become a crucial consideration for all companies globally, so Polyus is very proud to have been recognized in this area.
In his award speech, Alex Čaičics, Head of ESG Communications, stated:“As an IR team, our objective has always been to provide best-in-class communications for the investment community on the areas that matter most to our audience. Over recent years, ESG has become one of the top priorities of investors, and at Polyus, we have worked extremely hard to meet and exceed investor’s expectations, and to help the global mining sector define new best practice ESG disclosure.”
