Polyus’ Sustainability Report presented to RSPP Council

Polyus’ Sustainability Report presented to RSPP Council

This week, Daria Grigoreva, Head of Sustainable Development at Polyus, presented the Company’s 2020 Sustainability Report to the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs’ (RSPP’s) council on non-financial reporting.

The procedure was carried out through an open dialogue covering Polyus’ disclosure practices and sustainability performance. Participating stakeholders included industry experts, consultants and auditors, representatives of academic institutions and public organizations. As a result, the council awarded Polyus its public assurance certificate.

The RSPP’s Non-Financial Reporting Council seeks to gain public assurances on companies’ reports, ascertaining the importance and completeness of the information disclosed. Participating in stakeholder consultations such as this is crucial to ensuring that Polyus’ published reports are as effective as possible, and that the Company is constantly meeting the industry best practice standards. In this case, Polyus obtained valuable feedback from the council members, which will translate into further improvements to the company’s disclosure.

Daria Grigoreva, Head of Sustainable Development at Polyus, commented:

“Polyus has been undergoing independent audits of its sustainability reporting for several years, including both at the corporate level and within the different business units. In 2021, we decided to go through public assurances for the first time. This was a valuable opportunity for us to look at how fully and transparently we disclose non-financial data. The suggestions we received during the discussion went far beyond the requirements of the standards and reflected the pressing needs and interests of our stakeholders in Russia.”
