Polyus’ shares have been included in Sberbank’s newly-launched exchange-traded mutual fund, which aims to invest in companies that demonstrate high environmental, social and governance standards.
On 24 September, Sberbank Asset Management launched a new ETF — Sber — Responsible Investment. The fund invests in shares of companies that are included in the MOEX — RSPP Sustainability Vector Total Return Index on the Moscow Exchange. Polyus’ shares are included in the index.
The creation of the fund once again indicates that there is increasing appetite from investors for corporates that operate responsibly to support a sustainable future for the world in which they operate. As a major employer with significant industrial assets, Polyus takes its ESG responsibilities extremely seriously and has continued to demonstrate progress and leadership in key areas.
The joint MOEX-RSPP Sustainability Indices are an independent tool for evaluating companies, and the only one of its kind in Russia. The MOEX-RSPP Sustainability Vector Total Return Index includes companies that show the best progress in terms of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) compared to the previous year.
