Polyus retains its position in two sustainability leader indices

Polyus is pleased to announce that the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) Committee for Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development and the Moscow Exchange (MOEX) have confirmed the company’s position in two Sustainability leader indices, based on its 2020 performance.

The MOEX-RSPP Sustainability Indices are an independent tool for evaluating companies, which were developed in response to investor demand to evaluate companies in terms of ESG performance, as well as financial performance. The indices are based on an analysis of the top 100 largest Russian companies across all sectors, and include companies that demonstrate a robust ESG profile and best-in-class disclosure practices.

  • The Responsibility and Transparency Index comprises companies that are recognised as leaders in ESG disclosure, selected based on the levels and the depth of information the issuers report on their sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.
  • The Sustainability Vector Index includes companies that demonstrate the greatest progress in their ESG performance in comparison with the previous year.

Polyus was first included in the Responsibility and Transparency Index in 2018, and entered the Vector of Sustainable Development Index in 2020.

Daria Grigoreva, Head of Sustainable Development at Polyus, commented:

“We are very pleased to have retained our positions in both these prestigious indices by RSPP and the Moscow Exchange, and particularly to remain in the Sustainability Vector Index, which demonstrates that our performance has grown in relation to last year. Polyus remains committed to maintaining best-in-class standards of transparency and disclosure, as well as continuously improving our ESG performance, and we look forward to updating on our progress in 2021.”
