Polyus is delighted to have been named a winner of Mining Magazine’s 2021 Awards, coming first in the Emissions and the Transition category for the Company’s initiatives in transitioning to renewable energy use at its operating assets.
In 2021, Polyus switched 100% of its operating assets electricity demand over to renewables. This was primarily achieved through switching electricity demand at the Company’s key operating assets to hydropower.
Mining Magazine’s awards are held annually to celebrate outstanding new innovations, projects and initiatives within the mining sector. The awards commend the people, companies, groups or projects that have demonstrated excellence in advancing the state of play in the mining industry. The winners of each award category are selected by public vote.
Polyus was also nominated for the Editor’s Award in recognition of its achievements.
