Polyus welcomes EITI Progress Report 2021

The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), supported by Polyus and other leading members of the extractive sector, has launched its flagship EITI Progress Report 2021, a report on how EITI implementation has been adapted and sustained amid the constraints posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report highlights innovations in reporting by EITI implementing countries, as well as emerging practices in key areas including contract transparency, beneficial ownership transparency and corporate accountability.

In supporting the EITI, Polyus seeks to promote the initiative’s values of advancing transparency and best practice corporate governance in the extractive sector worldwide.

Polyus discloses its taxes, royalties and other payments to governments in its annual reports. The Company follows guidelines set out by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which enables businesses to increase their transparency and take more responsibility for their social and environmental impacts. In 2020, Polyus also disclosed the amount of tax it has paid calculated according to the GRI Tax Standard in its Sustainability Report.
