Polyus Magadan awarded for supporting charity projects

Polyus Magadan awarded for supporting charity projects

Polyus has been awarded ‘Patron of the Year’ by Yury Grishan, Mayor of Magadan, for its charitable work in 2020, with the award being presented at the City Day celebration reception.

Under the Company’s partnership with the City of Magadan, Polyus became involved in its project, “To the Alyaska — Sibir (AlSib) Heroes”, with a monument recognizing the bravery of Russian and American military pilots being unveiled in 2020. On New Year’s Eve, the Company continued its tradition of supporting the Magadan Crystal International competition, where participants from different Russian cities and towns create ice sculptures.

This year, Polyus has already supported the city’s initiative to build a sculpture of Vladimir Vysotsky, the Russian singer, poet and actor, as well as holding a concert and inviting a famous artist to meet Magadan graduates.

Polyus Magadan has been a partner for many significant regional events and projects for many years, with this now being recognized with this award.

Maxim Morgachev, GR Director of Polyus Magadan, commented:

“We are always open to cooperating with good causes, so were delighted to be able to provide our support for these initiatives. We have many other projects coming up, including ones in the Magadan region and the Tenkinsky district. These involve Polyus providing support for projects in areas such as health care, education, culture and art.”
